Hotel Utsikten Geiranger

Perched on top of the Geirangerfjord mountainscapes is Hotell Utsikten. One of Greirangerfjord's most luxurious hotels. This grand hotel was built in 1893 and has 29 tastefully decorated guest rooms offering all the luxury and comfort any guest may require.

This magnificent hotel has a lot of history attached to it. It was built and managed by Edvard Hole in 1893 to 1907 respectively. Later, rented out to the popular hotelier family of Lars R. Dahl that ran hotels in Ålesund and Øye.

The hotel has been modernized and renovated severally since 1907 and has hosted several notable personalities including Emperor Wilhelm II, who was a frequent visitor to this hotel.

In 1979, Hotell Utsikten changed ownership once more. It was acquired by Elsie and Oddmund Andvik who ran it as a health hotel, free of tobacco and alcohol. In 2004 the hotel was sold to Ida Ragna Krohn Venås and in 2008, Classic Norway became the proud owners of this historical hotel.
