Geiranger Westerås Hike
Come along for a tour where we hike and explore the stunning scenery up in the mountainsides of Geirangerfjord. It's no coincident that the Geirangerfjord is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, with its extraordinary landscapes.
Your journey will start from the port of Geiranger. You will step onboard a bus that will take you through Geiranger, passing the village's iconic church and the impressive Union Hotel.
Moving along the mountain roads, moving through the hills and hairpin bends, you will arrive at Hole. This beautiful spot is home to a number of old-fashioned Norwegian huts. You are now at the starting point of the hike. As you move up the hills, you will reach the Storseterfossen after roughly an hours hike. Storseterfossen is a stunning waterfall that falls nearly 30 meters in a curve from the side of the mountain. You will actually be able to walk underneath the waterfall.
After enjoying Storseterfossen the excursion continues, now going downhill towards the Westerås Farm. The Westerås Farm has been abandoned for years, as the steep hills make it exposed to the danger of avalanches during the winter.
During the summertime, Westerås is a flurry of activity. You will be able to enjoy a nice cup of coffee, tea, a glass of water and even waffles (optional, not included).
After a welcomed stop in Westerås, you will once again head out to the hills. You will trek back to Hole, where the bus awaits. The last leg of the journey will be the return bus ride, through the mountain roads, back to Geiranger.
