On this three and a half hour bike ride, you will travel along the coastline of the Frogner district en route to the Bygdøy peninsula where you will loop back to complete the round tour.

Once you reach the southern tip of the peninsula you will come across the Huk (n. Hukodden). There you will make a stop, where you can try out the sandy beach which is open for bathing (bring a swimsuit and towel!). Have an ice cream in the service centre or admire the nearby sculptures by artists Henry Spencer Moore and Anne Sofie Døhlen.

Next, you make a stop in the great Viking Ship Museum. This unique museum houses authentic Viking ships that were recovered from four different archaeological sites in Norway. These are the best-preserved Viking ships in the world and truly and marvelling over these tangiable echos of the past makes for a truly uniqy experience. The entrance fee to the museum is included in the tour.

The next leg of the trip will bring you to the Bygdøy royal farm. Originally purchased  by King Haakon V of Norway as a gift for his wife in 1305, the royal estate went through a comprehensive restoration which began in 2004. The expansive estate is used for organic agriculture with a plethora of livestock comprised of dairy cows, calves, sheep and ponies.

On your ride back to Oslo you will pass lush forests trails and ride along the beautiful Bygdøy coast. Once back in Oslo the route will take your through the back alleys of Aker Brygge before returning to the Bike Shop.

This tour is perfectly suited for those who have moderate prior biking experience. The total distance covered is 18km (11 miles) and includes a few hills, long even stretches and some biking on dirt paths.
