Come along on an unforgettable fjord excursion and experience the beauty of authentic Norwegian nature. This fjord cruise is an essential addition to the program of any traveller that wishes to behold the allure of the archetypical Norwegian fjord. Departing from Bergen, your adventure begins as you sail up the 27-kilometre long Osterfjorden Fjord in the Hordaland province. The scenery en route consists of steep mountains and powerful waterfalls, which you will venture so close to that you can feel the spray of their mist on your face. The mountain water that feeds these falls is pure enough to drink, and as the ship sails with its bow right up to the falls, your guide will use a container to catch some of the ice-cold water for you to sample. At the end of the fjord nests Modalen, home to only 380 residents, marking it as the second smallest municipality in all of Norway. Here you will make a short stop to catch a glimpse of the local fjord life, where picturesque and colourful wooden houses line the harbour, with a boat parked at every dock. As you venture back through the fjord, you will enter through the narrow Mostraumen strait, where tall and majestic mountains close in from each side. Remember to bring your camera along for all the wonderful and unique photo opportunities of your excursion.   If you embark on this tour during the winter season, you will be treated to stunning ice formations and a different landscape altogether. Fjord Cruise through Lysefjord

Come along on a scenic cruise of an authentic Norwegian fjord, to see and behold the one and only Pulpit Rock towering above the water. Anyone looking to experience the beauty of bona fide Scandinavian landscapes should not let this opportunity pass them by. The best way of beholding the vastness of a fjord is by gliding through its waters. Departing from Stavanger, your vessel is a modern and comfortable catamaran boat, equipped with a spacious sun deck and refreshments in the cabin. Your crew consists of expert tour guides, who will inform you of what you will see on your open water adventure. The venue of your journey is Lysefjord, an archetypal Norwegian fjord that also boasts of unique qualities. The light granite rocks that line the sides of the fjord are what gave it its name, with Lysefjord translating to ‘light fjord’. It is lined with numerous misty waterfalls, including Hengjane Falls, which you will venture so close to that you might feel their mist on your face. The fjord is also brimming with idyllic islands and varied wildlife - with a little bit of luck you might encounter the resident seals of the water or the acrobatic mountain goats of the hillsides. As you near in towards the heart of the fjord, get ready to behold the Vagabond’s Cave - an ancient hiding place to a group of outlaws who sought shelter there a long time ago. As you pass by this enigmatic site, you will be greeted by the very highlight of the fjord, the steep and towering Pulpit Rock. The cliff also known as Preikestolen is an ever popular venue for hikers, looking to see the scenery from above. On your cruise, however, you will get the pleasure of experiencing the allure of the rock from a whole different angle, as the near perfectly vertical drop of over 600 metres towers majestically over the skyline. Your vessel will return you to the port at Stavanger at the end of the tour. It is available all year round, providing for different seasonal charms each time around. Don’t miss out on this perfect cruise. Check availability by choosing a date.

Fjord Cruise & Pulpit Rock Hike | Combo Tour

Join this combo tour for a chance to get up close and personal with authentic Norwegian nature, where you will hop on a fjord cruise before strapping on your hiking boots and venturing up Pulpit Rock. Anybody looking to experience the full extent of Norway’s scenery should not let this opportunity pass them by. Setting out from Skagenkaien in Stavanger City, your excursion begins with an exploration of the one and only Lysefjord onboard a cruise boat. The fjord is special in many ways; it gets its name - ‘Light Fjord’ - because of the light-coloured granite rocks that line its mountainsides. As you venture in between the steeping mountains, you will pass uninhabited and idyllic islands surrounded by sapphire-coloured water, wooden houses nesting in the hillsides, acrobatic mountain goats, and numerous misty waterfalls plummeting down the cliffs. You will visit the Vagabond’s Cave in the heart of the fjord, where a group of outlaws allegedly hid from the authorities in days long gone. As you trail beyond this enigmatic and ancient hiding place, you will be greeted by the appearance of the monumental Pulpit Rock towering over the skyline. Looking up at the near perfectly vertical drop of this steepest of cliffs, any adventurer would be desirous to venture up for a chance of enjoying the view from above. And that is exactly what is on the agenda, as you will conclude your boat cruise at the village of Oanes and get ready for the second half of your adventure. A bus will take you from Oanes to the trailhead of Pulpit Rock at Preikestolhytta, where you will stock up on food and water before starting your ascent. The hike up Pulpit Rock has become increasingly popular with travellers from all over in the last years, but the trail is still moderately challenging and will take about two hours each way. After reaching the top, however, all the effort will be worth it, as you might as well be standing at the top of the world where you look down over the fjord you just cruised through. The photo opportunities from the top are to die for, and those brave enough can venture right to the edge of the cliff to look straight down the 600-metre drop. Once you have descended back down, a bus will take you back to the port of Tau to catch the ferry back to Stavanger. Don’t delay in booking this extraordinary tour for the chance of the combined wonders of a fjord safari and a view from the summit of Pulpit Rock. Check availability by choosing a date.
