Exploring the exciting hiking destination filled with gorgeous views and tranquil surroundings. Then Preikestolen Autumn Mountain Hiking Tour should be your next choice! Taking place in Norway's famous Lysefjord, this incredible tour attracts a few hundred thousand hikers every year.
The hike is of moderate difficulty, meaning that it’s best to have past hiking experience and be in generally good physical condition. Guests are asked to bring hiking boots, rain-proof jacket, water-resistant pants, warm hat and gloves, one pair of warm, thick socks, fleece or woolen sweater, small backpack, and packed lunch, water, and snacks. Several of these can be rented through the tour, so be sure to ask.
After an early-morning pick-up, your adventure will begin with a 30-minute transfer to the base of the hiking trail, including driving the world´s longest undersea road tunnel. There you will get ready for your adventure ahead! After a short briefing at the trailhead, you’ll embark on your journey to Preikestolen. Safety first!
The hiking tour is approximately 8 kilometers and features 2-2.5 hours of gorgeous, panoramic views, with stops along the way for snapping photos. During the Autumn season, Preikestolen exudes a calmness due to numerous types of flora and fauna that have begun to settle down for the long, dark winter that is just a short time away. Once you’ve reached the cliff above the Lysefjord, you’ll briefly rest and enjoy a small snack and warm drink. If conditions allow, you will be taken along an alternate route back to the Preikestolen Mountain Lodge, where you will enjoy freshly-baked bread and a homemade bowl of soup.
After lunch, and a few last breaths of crisp mountain air, you’ll return as a group to Stavanger.
Taking part in the Autumn Mountain Hiking Tour will be an adventure that you will never forget. The tour is available from October 1st until December 31st, so check availability and sign up today.
