Come on an exciting round-trip tour that cruises from Alesund, through Hareid to the bird island of Runde. Come to experience stunning seascapes as you sail through the western shores of Norway. This is a tour for anyone who loves sea cruises and appreciates bird watching.
Your 8.5-hour sea expedition will start at the Ålesund high-speed ferry terminal, Skateflukaia (near the tourist information centre). At this point, you will meet your FRAM guides and prepare for the expedition. Your sea cruise will be highlighted by astonishing views of beautiful shorelines, magnificent eagles hunting for fish, among other marine creatures.
You will sail to Hareid. Hareid lies on the mainland coast of the Sunnmøre, on the Hareidlandet Island in the Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Next, you will sail towards the charming fishing port of Fosnavåg, located on the island of Bergsøya.
Your next stop will be the idyllic bird island of Runde. Runde is located in Herøy municipality. This little island in the sea has a small population of people. The main attraction of this island is the 500,000 to 700,000 thousand seabirds that have chosen this island as their home. There are more than 200 different bird species on this little island.
Runde is a wonderful island to visit all year round, but especially in the summer. The island boasts the most majestic cliffs where many of the birds perch. During your stopover on this island, we suggest that you take part in some hiking excursions. You can also take part in a fun boat trip around this gorgeous island.
Afterwards, you will cruise back to Alesund enjoying the stunning evening vistas of the western seascapes. This is a wonderful way to spend a day at sea exploring the islands of western Norway. Check for availability and book your spot today!
