Ålesund From Fjord to Trolls
Do you want to explore some of Norway's most impressive landscapes? This bus tour takes you through the highlights outside of the Ålesund area, where the main theme is trolls.
During the tour, your guide will share many fascinating facts and stories about the areas and places we pass through.
We begin by driving towards Sjøholt, a part of Møre of Romsdal county which is especially known for the furniture industry. Here we will also pass the house of Ivar Åsen, who is the founder of Norway's second official language: Nynorsk.
The bus continues and drives along Storfjord towards Valldal where we pass Stordal and the Rose Church (built in 1789). Valldal is famous for its strawberries so make sure that you have a few!
Your next stop will be at the stunning Gudbrandsljuvet, a 5m narrow and 20-25m deep ravine. Here you can walk across the modern bridge from one side of the ravine to the other.
The adventure now continues as we drive through the Reinheimen National Park towards the iconic Trollstigen plateau. From the beautiful overview of the Troll Road (Trollstigen), you can also enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding King, Queen, and Bishop Mountains, as well as the rushing Stigfossen waterfall.
After enjoying the beautiful scenery your driver takes you safely down the 11 hairpin bends. At the bottom of the road, there's another opportunity to take some images of Stigfossen waterfall.
Our last stop before heading back to Ålesund is the majestic Troll Wall (Trollveggen) and the beautiful Romsdalshorn. The Troll Wall is Europe's tallest vertical rock face and the perfect way to wrap up a scenic tour.
