It had taken eight years to build when Trollstigen was opened in 1936. Since then, the road has become one of Norway's most popular attraction, with its 11 hairpin bends and 10% incline.
Every bend in Trollstigen has its name and you will find name signs placed by every curve. As you move up the mountainside, you will be able to get a closer look of the three mountains called the King, the Queen, and the Bishop.
At the end of Trollstigen, you will make another stop. At the Trollstigen plateau, you will find a restaurant, restrooms, a souvenir shop and a paved path which will lead you to two platforms. From here you will be able to enjoy the stunning view over the valley, observing Trollstigen from above and its surrounding mountains.
